The Saturna Recreation Centre Society is pleased to announce yearly activity cards for 2007 are now available for purchase. 2006 cards must be renewed in January 2007 (see contacts below).

Recreation activities at the Centre will include sports and upcoming sports tournaments, bridge or cribbage in the lounge. The possibilities are endless and we look forward to hearing about some of your ideas on how to best use this spacious centre.

Mission Statement

It is our intent to make the Saturna Recreation Centre as accessible and affordable as possible to the residents and non profit organizations of Saturna Island.

Activity Fees

Membership fees are to help us with the operating costs such as taxes, insurance, utilities, and a locally employed custodian. Our custodian will clean the Rec Centre on a regular basis and will do a final clean up after large events. We are proud of our building and wish to keep it as clean and tidy as possible. Your membership fees will insure this possibility.  The Rec Centre is a non-profit organization but needs to generate sufficient revenue to cover costs of operating the Centre.

Your activity card allows access to all booked activities between the hours of 7 am to 1 am.  With the membership card you will receive an access code that allows you entrance to the Rec Centre.

Activity Card fees are as follows, pending a slight increase for 2007:

Single Person        $30

Senior or Student  $15

Family                   $50

All students of Saturna Elementary School are free.

Anyone wishing a discounted activity fee because of hardship due to personal reasons is encouraged to request a discount.

Paid fees will allow the card holder access to the Rec Centre for a full calendar year; January 01 through December 31, 2007.

Definition of a family: A family consists of one or two parents/guardians with dependent minor children.

Definition of hardship: The Marketing Committee feels that one person’s hardship is open to more than a few interpretations.  If a single person or family in this community wishes to ask for a discount on their access card fee we will be happy to discount it appropriately.

The card allows access to Rec Centre for a select person or group which books a space for their own use.

The card does not allow access to the Rec Centre for any booked events with an admission charge, or for a private function.

All activity card holders in good standing of the Saturna Recreation Centre have access to the main lobby, the washrooms, and the gymnasium between the hours of 7 am and 1 am.

How do you purchase your activity card?

You may purchase an activity card from one of the following Rec Centre Marketing team members: Beth Jones 539.2641, Melanie Gaines 539.2452, Leslie Mayher 539.5242 or Al Stonehouse 539.9985.  One of us will also be available at many of the Rec Centre functions in the coming weeks.
