About us:

The Saturna Recreation Centre Society is an incorporated non-profit society of Saturna Island community members, with an elected Board of Directors. The Directors for 2007 are Don Piper (President), John Money (Vice President), Rick Mayher (Secretary/Treasurer), Melanie Gaines (Marketing), Al Stonehouse Grant Dickey and Brian Haley.

The Society, as planners, fund-raisers, builders and administrators of a new sports and cultural facility on Saturna Island, invites you to visit the Saturna Recreation and Cultural Centre.

Year-round sports and cultural activities are now conducted at the Centre, and users of the facilities must purchase activity cards for one-year recreational activity memberships. Please see the membership page for detailed information on purchasing these membership cards and visit our events page for information on upcoming special events and ongoing activities. The exciting and state of the art Recreation and Cultural Centre designed by architect John Keay features great lighting, air-conditioning, geo-thermal heating and has a large gymnasium and meeting rooms, kitchen and other amenities. Saturna’s beautiful, multi-purpose Rec Centre is ready and eager to hold events of all types. The Centre is located on beautiful Saturna Island which features some of the mildest weather and spectacular scenery in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
